NORMAL, Ill. – Just a few days before celebrating Halloween, Redbird fans will have the opportunity to channel their inner Brock Spack and celebrate at the inaugural Spack Stache Bash prior to the Oct. 29 football game versus nationally-ranked South Dakota State at Hancock Stadium.
From 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., fans are encouraged to head to the G-82 parking lot north of Horton Field House and adjacent to the track for a special pregame tailgate party that is free and open to all fans in attendance. The Spack Stache Bash will be held in conjunction with game sponsor Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, along with additional partners Lakeshore Beverage, Campus Point Apartments, Denny's Doughnuts, Chik-Fil-A and Buffalo Wild Wings. The tailgate will feature seating, big screen televisions to watch all of the day's college football action, food samples and music provided by a DJ.
To celebrate the 'stache – and to draw awareness to men's health issues – Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal will give away "Spack Staches" at the Spack Stache Bash tailgate. Attendees will receive a peel-and-stick #SpackStache they can sport to emulate Coach Spack and give themselves a head start on "No-Shave November" (a.k.a. "Movember"), the annual event in which men are encouraged to refrain from shaving for the month to raise awareness and funds for cancer and other men's health concerns.  Advocate BroMenn Medical Center is the Official Hospital Sponsor of Illinois State University Athletics.
In addition to the Spack Stache giveaway, fans are encouraged to come by for food samples and are encouraged to bring their own drinks (no food or drink will be made available for sale). Other activities that day include Youth Cheer Clinic and the Redbird Run. Children ages 4-12 can run on the field prior to kickoff.
Fans will also want to make sure to arrive at the stadium early to catch the singing of the National Anthem, which will be performed by renowned guest soloist Jim Cornelison from the Chicago Blackhawks.
