Football Cheer Clinic For Kids Scheduled For Oct. 29

NORMAL, Ill. – Before heading out to celebrate Halloween, kids will have the opportunity to participate in a fun day of activities on Oct. 29 at Hancock Stadium prior to Illinois State's football game against South Dakota State.

Illinois State Athletics and Reggie's Kids Club will host a cheer clinic, with instruction from the ISU cheerleaders. The $20 registration for the Cheer Clinic includes a game ticket, a Papa John's pizza lunch and pompoms to use at a special halftime performance.  The Cheer Clinic is open to boys and girls ages 4-12, and advanced registration is due by Friday, Oct. 28.  

Participants are encouraged to wear red or Illinois State gear to the clinic and bring their own water bottle. Check in and registration will begin at 11 a.m., with the clinic set to at 11:30 a.m. at the north gym at Horton Field House.  

All Cheer Clinic participants will also be invited to participate in the Redbird Run on the field turf at Hancock Stadium.  Children ages 4 - 12, who do not participate in the Cheer Clinic, can purchase a regularly-priced $15 ticket and still participate in the Redbird Run.  Advanced registration is not required for the Redbird Run. Participants will run across the field with the Redbird football team just prior to kickoff.

Runners will meet in the North end zone by the large video scoreboard by 1:40 p.m., and can be picked up in the Southeast corner of the field after the Redbird Run is over. For more information or to book a spot for the cheer clinic, contact the Redbird Sales Team at (309) 438-8000 ext. 2.
