NORMAL, Ill. - Pitching on both sides was the story as Illinois State secured a Senior Day shutout over UIC on Sunday afternoon at Duffy Bass Field by a final of 1-0.
Senior Tanner Perry fired a nine-inning complete game shutout for the Redbirds (24-25 overall, 13-11 MVC).
Senior Noah Smith had a double as part of a 2-for-3 day at the plate as the Birds mustered six hits against the Flames (17-31 overall, 13-11 MVC).
