Hog Roast
As a way to kick off the fall sports season, ISU Athletics hosts an annual event where all WSF members are invited to enjoy complimentary food and beverage. Coaches and administrators will be in attendance to meet and greet with all WSF members. We'll have 4 hogs roasting and all the sides and trimmings you can enjoy. The 2011 Hog Roast will be held on August 15, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Lakeside Country Club.
Business After Hours
This event serves as a way for professionals in the Bloomington-Normal community to join as one. It is a great way to show support for the Redbirds and also mingle with others in the work community. Last year's event was October 20th and it includes food, snacks, and beverages for each attendee. Come with other members of your office or come by yourself to meet other members of the community and share the common bond of Illinois State Athletics. The 2011 Business After Hours will be held on October 19, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at Redbird Arena.
Draw Down
This major fundraiser for ISU Athletics gives each couple that participates the opportunity to walk away with all sorts of Redbirds swag and even cash! Only 200 couples may purchase tickets and once we sell out...we're completely sold out. Each couple receives a number, ping pong balls are drawn from a bucket, and prizes are given away to the lucky few who are drawn at designated intervals. The last person standing walks away with a stack of cash courtesy of ISU Athletics.
Redbird Golf Classic
As the annual golf fundraiser for The Weisbecker Scholarship Fund, the Redbird Golf Classic continues to grow in participation year after year. Held on the 2nd Friday of June each year, the RGC includes lunch, a round of scramble golf, a catered dinner, and prizes for winners in addition to a raffle and silent auction. Student-athletes and coaches are on hand throughout the day to promote the event and provide a friendly environment. The 2011 RGC raised the equivalent of 1 out-of-state scholarship. The 2012 Redbird Golf Classic will be held on June 8, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m., Weibring Golf Club.
Taste of Redbirds
For the ninth-straight year, Illinois State Athletics will host the "Taste of Redbirds." Fans will then have a chance to sample food and fun in the historic Horton Field House.
Admission to the event is free, but tickets need to be purchased for the food and beverages (while supplies last), which will be provided by Bloomington-Normal-area restaurants and vendors. Participating vendors will be announced as it gets closer to the event.
