CARBONDALE, Ill. - Set to compete in the final matches of the regular season, the Illinois State volleyball team (17-11, 10-6) will return to the road to face Southern Illinois (16-12, 11-5) Friday followed by Evansville (9-18, 4-12) Saturday before the start of the conference tournament next week. The Redbirds have already clinched a spot in the tournament and will determine their rank following the completion of conference play this weekend.

On the season, the Redbirds are led by Ashley Rosch with 324 kills, averaging 3.12 kills per set. Stacey Niao remains second on the team in kills (245) and digs (282) while Emily Orrick leads the team with 490 digs. Setter Kaitlyn Early has amassed 1,105 assists this season, eclipsing the millennium mark for the second consecutive year. Emily Schneider leads the team with 121 total blocks, tallying 19 solo blocks and 102 block assists.

The Salukis enter the weekend in fourth place in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC), just one game ahead of ISU. Taylor Pippen leads the team with 121 total blocks while Alex Rivera, a two-time defensive player of the week selection this season, leads the team with 438 digs. Hannah Kaminsky has collected 986 assists, averaging 10.60 assists per set.

Evansville is led by Ashley Ring with 323 kills while Katie Klages leads the MVC with 537 digs, averaging 5.71 digs per set. Meaghan Holmes has a team-high 92 total blocks and Jenn Murphy leads the team with 790 assists. Although the Purple Aces have been eliminated from tournament contention, they'll be looking to close out the year on a high note against the Redbirds. The Indiana State Sycamores, who the Purple Aces will play Friday, are still competing for the sixth and final spot in the tournament.

The conference tournament begins Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, in Wichita, Kan. The schedule and match times are currently pending, based on the outcome of this weekend's matches.
