Illinois State Heads to Indiana State

NORMAL, Ill. -The Illinois State volleyball team (8-6, 2-2 MVC) will hit the road to face Indiana State (3-11, 1-3 MVC) in its lone Missouri Valley Conference match-up this weekend. The Redbirds will face the Sycamores Friday, Sept. 28 at 6 p.m. (CT). Illinois State leads the series 50-7.
Indiana State snagged its first Missouri Valley Conference win of the season against Bradley in four sets, but was defeated by Northern Iowa the following night. The Sycamores improved to 1-3 and were led by Shea Doran 24 kills and 3.45 kills per set. Doran also added four solo blocks and 16 digs. Indiana State finished the 2011 season with a 14-17 overall record and a 6-12 conference mark. The team returns two starters and seven letterwinners, and adds seven newcomers to the 2012 squad.
