NORMAL, Ill. - Welcome to Celebration City. We arrived at San Antonio and the students were amazed at how beautiful the city was. We were able to experience the downtown area seeing the Alamo and the River Walk. If you haven’t already, I would definitely recommend you visit this great city! With 80 degree weather and being able to wear shorts why wouldn’t you want to go?

Before we were able to have a little fun and enjoy this great city, we got to work helping to serve at three local parks; painting and cleaning up debris. The extra special aspect of Celebration City isn’t just that this was our final stop on the tour, but it was the meeting of 6 colleges in 1 city for the same cause. There were over 250 college students doing community service in one area!

Although the tour has come to an end, my community service will not end here. I will stay highly involved with STLF and continue to do service projects each month. I am very humbled to have been part of this experience; particularly in the leadership position I was given. It was rewarding to see 44 college students grow over just 9 days.

If any college students love to travel, enjoy meeting new people, and would like to volunteer time for worthy causes, STLF is the place for them. The organization meets every Wednesday at 8pm on the third floor of the Bone Student Center.
