Zauere played volleyball at Houston and has competed on national and international volleyball circuits.
Ingrida Zauere joined Illinois State as the director of volleyball operations in July 2012. Zauere played volleyball at Houston and has competed on national and international volleyball circuits.
Zauere was a four-year letterwinner for the Cougars and helped UH to a 67-59 overall record. She ranks 10th in career digs at UH with 972 and was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team in 2008. Zauere competed in the CEV European Championships and the FIVB World Championships, as a member of Latvian national beach team. She has also participated in FIVB World and CEV European beach volleyball tours. Most recently, Zauere spent time training and playing for the Latvian national team.
The Kuldiga, Latvia, native brings coaching experience to Illinois State, after working with various girls teams, including Skyline Volleyball Club in Houston, Texas, and for the UH Athletic Department. Zauere has developed event management and marketing skills, while interning with the Cougar Athletic Department, with a concentration in organizing recruiting visits and coordinating special events.
Zauere earned her bachelor's degree in kinesiology, with an emphasis of sports administration, from Houston in 2012 and is pursuing a master's degree in recreational administration at Illinois State.
