Victoria Brown joined Illinois State as an assistant coach in June 2012. Brown brings a wide range of knowledge within collegiate and international volleyball programs.
Prior to joining Illinois State, Brown served as a volunteer assistant at Toledo. Her responsibilities with the Rockets included working with right side hitters, defensive training, video breakdown and developing offensive strategies. Brown expanded her coaching efforts instructing as the head coach for the Toledo Volleyball Club and has coached Illinois Volleyball camps for the past seven years.
Brown has a wealth of on-court experience playing professional volleyball in Austria, Puerto Rico and Spain. While overseas, Brown served as the primary team representative for the team's public relations efforts to develop relationships with sponsors and radio and television contacts. She also had the opportunity to compete in tournaments in Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland.
Brown, who graduated from Illinois with a bachelor's degree in communications, played four seasons of college volleyball. She was a two-time All-Big Ten honorable mention selection and earned most valuable player accolades in six tournaments. Brown was selected to play for the USA A2 Women's National team in 2007. Alongside her accomplishments on the court, Brown helped the Illini develop community relationships through yearly network picnics, kids day clinics and volleyball camp reunion games.
