BLOOMINGTON, Ill.-The Illinois State Women's tennis team (6-8, 1-0 MVC) is set to take on the Bradley Braves (7-8) on Friday, March 29, at the Evergreen Racquet Club in Bloomington, Ill.

The match against the Braves on Friday marks the second conference matchup for the Redbirds this season. The team defeated Creighton, 6-1 earlier in the spring season in Omaha, Neb.

Head coach Chris Hoover knows what the team needs to do in order to come away with the victory against Bradley and make a strong run in the Missouri Valley Conference this season.

"We just need to play. We have been inconsistent, but everyone has had moments of brilliance, "Hoover said. "Against Bradley I would like to see us put together some good doubles, and start to have good solid play up and down the line-up."

The Redbirds are poised for redemption against the Braves, and ready to snap a four match losing streak. Most recently, the team fell to Marquette, 6-1 in Milwaukee, Wis. The team's last victory came on against New Orleans, 4-3. The Redbirds have a record of 3-1 at home.

The Braves are 7-8 overall this season with an away record of 3-4. Bradley most recently defeated Coe College, 8-1 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Bradley has won just three of the last eight matches.

The match had originally been scheduled to be played in Peoria, Ill. at Bradley, but problems with the facilities have forced the match to be rescheduled to the Redbirds indoor facilities. The match is now set to take place at the Evergreen Racquet Club in Bloomington, Ill. with play set to begin at 2 p.m. Your online source for Illinois State Athletics, tickets, Weisbecker Scholarship Fund gifts, multimedia, Redbird merchandise, photos and more.
