Ilves Advances in Consolation Match at Day One of ITA Regionals

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Illinois State women's tennis team concluded day one of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional with sophomore Kadi Ilves advancing in consolation singles.

Ilves, who lost in the first round to Bowling Green's Emily Reuland, 0-6 7-6 (7), 6-2, gained momentum and defeated Ohio State's NicoleFlower6-4,6-1 in the first round of consolation qualifying singles.

After Phyllis Tigges' round-one bye, she fell to DePaul Zaina Sufi, 6-1, 6-3, in qualifying singles.

The remaining eight singles matches will be played Friday morning beginning at 9 a.m. followed by consolation matches at 9:30. The first two rounds of doubles play will begin at 2 p.m.
