Redbirds Sweep Evansville, 6-1

In the first home outdoor match of the season, the Illinois State women's tennis team defeated Missouri Valley Conference foe Evansville, 6-1, in ISU's fifth MVC match of the spring season.


Redbirds Defeated by Marquette, 7-0

Marquette proved to be too tough of a competitor for Illinois State, shutting out the Redbirds in every match.


Redbird Women's Tennis Earns 5-2 Victory Over Milwaukee

Emmie Marx earned a No. 2 singles victory and helped earn the No. 2 doubles win.


Redbirds Fall in Outdoor-Opener at Stetson, 6-1

Stetson extended its winning streak to nine-straight matches.


Women's Tennis Edges Saint Louis, 4-3

Next, the Redbirds travel to Indianapolis, Ind., Feb. 8, to face Indianapolis at 1 p.m.


2013-14 Season

2012-13/sophomore at Illinois State: Recorded an overall score of 11-7 in singles play... went 4-2 in conference in the first position in Valley singles play... went 6-2 score overall in doubles with partner Stefanie Youngberg.

2011-12/freshman at Illinois State: In the No.2 position, posted a record of 14-9 overall and 4-4 in MVC play.... went 4-4 in MVC doubles play at the first position... named to the Valley 2012 All-Select Team

Prior to ISU: Ranked No.1 on Quentiqua high school tennis team... won the Boland Summer Tournament in No.1 singles and doubles... won the Tjaart Voster Schools tournament in the No.1 position... placed in the marlie Moclman Tennis Tournament.

Personal: Born April 30, 1992 ... daughter of Emsie Marx ... has three siblings, Izelle, Marna and Frans... sister Marna is playing netball at the University of Potchefstroom... majoring in biochemistry/molecular biology.
