The Redbirds fell behind early with losses at the No.2 and No.3 positions in doubles, conceding the team point to Marquette and resulting in a 1-0 lead for the Golden Eagles.
The matches were played outside marking the first outdoor competition for the Redbirds since play wrapped up in the fall. The conditions in El Paso, Texas during over proved to be out of character for the area and the weather was cold and windy.
The match against the Jaguars marks the third consecutive win for the Redbirds who seem to finding their footing after a season opening loss to Illinois. The team bounced back from the loss and has opened up the spring season with a 3-1 record, remaining unbeaten at home.
The squad posted an 8-3 singles mark and 2-1 doubles mark on the first day of competition

Posted a record of 2-5 in overall singles play... along with sister Heather Nisbet, went 1-0 in overall doubles.
2010-11/freshman at Illinois State:
Posted a record of 3-7 in singles competition in her first season at ISU ... finished 5-8 in doubles matches and was 4-4 when paired with partner Stefanie Youngberg.
Prior to ISU: Attended Buffalo Grove High School in Buffalo Grove, Ill. ... won a doubles sectional championship and placed sixth in the state with her twin sister, Heather, as a partner ... the pair also won a conference title and placed second in the state in badminton as seniors ... awarded the Tom Pitchford Sportsmanship Award.
