NORMAL, Ill. - - The Illinois State swimming and diving team will compete on the road in a dual meet against the University of Nebraska-Omaha, Saturday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. in the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Pool.

This will be the first dual meet both the swimming and diving teams will compete in together this season. Head coach Steve Paska is excited to see the whole team compete together and continue to develop.

"The weeks prior to this meet the Redbirds have competed consistently passing each test," said Paska. "The student-athletes will be looking to focus on four improvements this weekend and in upcoming meets. They are working on attention to detail in events, progressive race strategy, competing from the first to sixteenth event with continuous energy and remain invested in their own events while also supporting their teammates throughout each meet. We still have a number of dual meets left this season and I am ready to see how the student-athletes getup and compete each weekend."

Diving coach Phil Hoffmann is looking forward to the divers first weekend in dual meet competition.

"I am excited for the divers to compete in the first true dual meet of the season," said Hoffmann. "This is a great opportunity for the divers to be able to perform on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards. They benefit from meets like this by getting experience to perform in new environments, which prepares them for the Zippy Invitational and Conference. Our conditioning staff has done a great job at getting the student-athletes into good shape for competition this season. I am looking forward to seeing the diver's performance and where they stand in terms of preparation for the Zippy Invitational."

The Redbirds were victorious at last weekend's meet against Truman State placing first in nine events.
