Redbird Swimming Adds Kruk to Roster

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State swimming and diving team add another swimmer to their roster, as head coach Steve Paska announced the signing of incoming freshman Yvette Kruk. The West Chicago Community High School 2013 graduate is projected to swim freestyle and breaststroke.

Main Events: Freestyle and Breaststroke
Qualified for state all four-years ... part of the school record holding 400-yard freestyle relay team ... team captain junior and senior year ... named a scholar-athlete three years in a row ... named all -conference two years ... placed ninth in the state in the 200-yard freestyle relay ... member of the honor roll all four-years ... member of the National Spanish Honor Society ... plans on majoring in community health.
Top Times: 50-yard freestyle- 24.81, 100-yard freestyle- 53.28, 200-yard freestyle- 1:55.41, 100-yard breaststroke 1:08.79.
Paska on Kruk: "Yvette is a talented freestyle and breaststroke swimmer. She will add a great deal of depth to our freestyle group, and she will also play a significant role in adding another qualify breaststroke swimmer to our squad. Kruk has versatility to swim breaststroke and freestyle for us, and she will be able to compete for a number of freestyle spots in sprint and middle distance. Yvette also comes from a quality high school and club program. She is coming in with extensive training, and I think she will make the transition to a collegiate swimmer in fine fashion. She is a quality swimmer, and she will contribute to the success of the 2013-14 season. I am looking forward to her coming to Illinois State."
