ILLINOIS STATE SOFTBALL

Each hitting and pitching clinic will be conducted Sunday, Dec. 16, with instruction to be given by Fischer, as well as ISU softball assistant coaches Tina Kramos and Bill Kennedy. The trio of coaches has a combined 56 years of coaching experience between them, with Fischer having led the Redbird softball team as its head coach for the past 23 years. All clinic participants will receive a camp T-shirt, while lunch will be provided for those who register for both the hitting and pitching clinics.

The Redbird Development Clinic will take place Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, and will help campers develop the fundamental skills necessary to be a successful softball player. Clinic participants will be under the tutelage of Fischer and her assistant coaches, as well as volunteer assistant coach Bill Dickson, the ISU softball team and select Redbird softball alumni. All participants will receive a camp T-shirt, along with lunch.

The hitting and pitching clinics will be split into four separate sessions, each taking place Dec. 16, inside Horton Field House on the Illinois State campus. A hitting clinic for participants in grades six through eight will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, followed by a pitching clinic for participants in the same age group from 1-4 p.m. A pitching clinic for high school-age softball players will be conducted from 9 a.m. to noon, followed by a hitting clinic for that same age group from 1-4 p.m.

Cost for participation in one of the hitting/pitching clinics is $100 per clinic, or $180 for both clinics. The deadline to register for either the hitting or pitching clinics is Dec. 7.

The Redbird Development Clinic will be an all-day camp for participants in eighth grade or younger. Check-in will begin at 9 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, inside Horton Field House, and will be followed by various instructional sessions throughout the day. The clinic will conclude at 4 p.m.

The Redbird Development Clinic costs just $70, but is limited to 150 participants. The registration deadline for the clinic is Jan. 16, 2008.
