Redbird Softball to Host Four Clinics This Summer

NORMAL, Ill. - Head coach Melinda Fischer, her staff and team will host four camps this summer at Marian Kneer Stadium. The four clinics feature instruction for second graders through 12th graders in all phases of the game.

The first clinic is the All-Purpose Day Camp, which will be held Wednesday, June 5, from 9:30 a.m., to 3 p.m. This clinic is specifically designed for girls in second through eighth grade of any skill level. Individual attention will be emphasized in all phases of the game. Registration is open now through June 4, and costs $80.

The Next Level Camp will take place Tuesday, June 11, from 9:30 a.m., to 5 p.m. The clinic is open to ninth through 12th graders and designed for the serious high school player, especially those desiring to play at the next level. Instruction will be focused on both offense and defense, while scrimmaging and weight room orientation will also take place. The camp costs $130, with registration ending Monday, June 10.

Lastly, the Redbirds will hold both a pitching and hitting clinic on Tuesday, June 18, open to sixth through 12th graders. The hitting clinic will run from 9:30 a.m., to 12 p.m., while the pitching clinic will take place from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Each camp is designed for the serious player, as the hitting clinic is limited to 30 participants and the pitching clinic 20. Cost for each session is $130, or $230 for the two combined, with registration ending June 17. Pitching clinic participants must bring their own catcher.
