NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State softball team welcomes back roots of its program on Alumni Day Saturday, April 27, to celebrate former members of Redbird softball, while the Birds battle Northern Iowa in a double-header. Game one is slated to begin at noon, followed by game two scheduled for 2 p.m.

To start off the day, an alumni tailgate will be held in the parking lot located between Marian Kneer Softball Stadium and Adelaide Street Field at 10:45 a.m. Fifteen minutes prior to the start of game one, an on-field recognition will take place for all alumni in attendance.

Those wishing to attend any of the events throughout the day, are asked to RSVP to pitching coach Shannon Nicholson by calling (309) 438-3278, or contact her via email at This event would not be possible without RB4L, Illinois State’s club designed to connect current and former student-athletes, coaches, administrators and associates of ISU.

Admission is free for the entire regular season at Marian Kneer Softball Stadium, so fans are encouraged to come and help Redbird softball set a new attendance record.
