Redbird Softball Prepares to Face SEMO

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State softball team continues its spring break trip this week, as it travels to Cape Girardeau, Mo., to take on Southeast Missouri State Thursday at 3:30 p.m. ISU will compete against SEMO at the Redhawks Softball Complex.

Illinois State leads SEMO, 3-1, in the all-time series, and will matchup with the Redhawks for the first time since 2007.

ISU's Abby Olson hit two home runs out of the park in the final day of play at the Tennessee Classic, Sunday, March 7. Due to her offensive performance, Olson earned the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week honors for the second-consecutive week.

Olson batted .417 (5-for-12) in the tournament with two home runs, each coming against ranked opponents. The Hartsburg, Ill., native hit one home run against No. 13/15 Texas and another against No. 20 Tennessee. After competing in all of ISU's 17 games, Olson holds a .417 batting average with 12 runs on 20 hits.
