Redbird Soccer Adds Nine for 2013 Season

NORMAL, Ill. - In conjunction with Wednesday's National Signing Day, Illinois State head women's soccer coach Drew Roff announced the addition of nine players to the roster for the 2013 season. Roff, who is entering his seventh year at the helm of the Redbirds and has led ISU to three NCAA Tournament appearances in the last four seasons, is bringing on two forwards, four backs, one midfielder and two goalkeepers

"This class has quality from top to bottom that will help strengthen every area of our team," Roff said. "The talent level, experience and character of these nine players make this a special group. This is arguably our most talented and deepest class to date, and each player brings something special and unique. Our program has built up some momentum recently, and I expect this group to be a major factor in our continued development and success.

"I would like to thank my assistant coach, Jim Schneiderhahn, for all his hard work over the past several months," Roff added. "He played an integral role in putting this class together."

The 2013-14 Illinois State recruiting class includes: Jessie Bejna (Darien, Ill./Montini Catholic HS - Oak Brook Soccer CLub), Laura Burrill (Hampton, Ill./United Township High School), Brooke Ksiazek (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley HS - Team Chicago Soccer Club), Hannah Leinert (Wildwood, Mo./Eureka HS - Lou Fusz Wipke), Kara Morway (Lake Forest, Ill./Lakes Community High School - Illinois Eclipse Select), Vanessa Niestrom (Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South HS - Oak Brook Soccer Club), Dagny Olson (Champaign, Ill./Centennial High School - Illinois Eclipse Select), Emily Schoenfeldt (Niles, Ill./Crystal Lake South HS - Crystal Lake Force) and Sara Stankoskey (Carol Stream, Ill./Glenbard North HS - Sockers FC).
