NORMAL, Ill. - In conjunction with Wednesday's National Signing Day, Illinois State head women's soccer coach Drew Roff announced the addition of seven players to the roster for the 2014 season, Friday morning. Roff, who recently completed his seventh year at the helm of the Redbirds and has led ISU to three-straight NCAA Tournament appearances, is bringing in six field players and one goalkeeper.

"I think the strength of our 2014 class is how skillful and versatile they are," Roff said.  "With one goalkeeper and six field players that can all play in the midfield or up top, this is one of the most well rounded group of attacking players we have had.  All of them are capable of playing a positive, possession-based style, and they all have some good ideas in the final third.  They have also shown the ability to create and score a lot of goals throughout their careers, so I expect them to fit in very well with our current group.

"Lastly, I think this class as a whole has all of the intangibles we look for," Roff added.  "They are all strong academically, they all really enjoy playing the game, they are fiercely competitive, and they want to put in the work to get better.  Every single one of them also showed that they wanted to be a Redbird early in the process, and they all understand what our program represents.  I am excited about the great potential of this class, and I am really looking forward to their arrival."
