Katie Baumgardner comes to Illinois State as a graduate assistant after playing goalkeeper for four seasons at Ohio State.

Baumgardner started every match as a senior in 2011, compiling a record of 11-8-2. Additionally, she was named Capital One/CoSIDA academic all-district and academic all-Big Ten.

As a junior in 2010, Baumgardner's play in net helped lead the Buckeyes to a berth in the Women's College Cup. She came off the bench in seven of the team's first 17 games, but then started the final seven, including all five NCAA matches. She was named to the College Cup All-Tournament team, making 10 saves in the semifinals against Notre Dame.

Baumgardner did not see any action on the pitch in 2009, but she was named an OSU Scholar-Athlete.

She played in five games as a freshman in 2008 and was again tabbed as an OSU Scholar-Athlete.

A native of Sterling, Va., Baumgardner attended Potomic Falls High School, lettering in soccer, lacrosse and basketball. She is the daughter of Marie and Charlie Baumgardner and the sister of Amy and Eric.
