Nov. 3, 2008
NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State women's gymnastics' team will host the first-annual, Parent's Night Out fundraiser, Saturday Dec. 13. The event, which will be held from 6-10:30 p.m., allows parents in the Bloomington-Normal area a chance to enjoy a night out while their children are under the supervision of the ISU gymnastics student-athletes and coaches.
Children age 4 and up are welcome to participate in the event and will spend the night learning gymnastics, playing games, and watching movies. The cost is $25 per child with a $5 discount per sibling that partakes in the event, and all checks need to be made out to Redbird Gymnastics Camp. The fundraiser is a way for the ISU Gymnastics team to raise money for their upcoming season.
"I like this type of fundraiser because it gives the team a chance to share their love of gymnastics with children of the community," said head coach Bob Conkling. " It's also nice because the parent's can have a night out to go to dinner, see a movie, or even Christmas shop while their kids are having an evening of fun and exercise."
Sign-in begins15 minutes prior to the start of the event at the South Gym in Horton Field house. At this time parents, will need to fill out a proof of insurance waiver before their child can participate in the night's activities.
