The Illinois State gymnastics team will host Western Michigan Friday, Feb. 17, for its annual Pink Meet for Breast Cancer Awareness. The meet will start at 7p.m. in historic Horton Field House.

Head coach Bob Conkling is excited to host the meet which benefits good cause.

"We are very excited to be hosting a pink meet for breast cancer awareness," said Conkling. "We hope that our fans come out and wear pink to show their support for the cause."

Conkling is looking for the Redbirds to continue improvement and consistency this week, as they face the No. 37 ranked Broncos.

"We are hoping to see the team continue to improve their routines and consistency," said Conkling. "Western Michigan is a very strong team and ranked 37th in the country. Our goal is to keep our focus on us, and for each gymnast to do the best routine of the season on each of the events. If the team can do this, we will be successful no matter what the final outcome."
