Women's Golf Ready for Johnie Imes Invitational

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State women's golf team will head to Columbia, Mo., to compete in the three-round Johnie Imes Invitational, its fourth tournament of the season. The first day will begin with a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m., Monday, while the final round will be played Tuesday at 8 a.m. Missouri State's Old Hawthorne Course, the site of the tournament, is a 6,234-yard, par-72 configuration

Senior Katie Jean looks to continue her success this season, coming off of a top-ten finish at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invite (Sept. 24-25). Jean has finished in the top-ten in all three tournaments she has played in this season, averaging a score of 223, and has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week twice.

Others competing for the Redbirds will be junior Rachel Powers, who finished 18th at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invite. Junior Jordyn Wyzgowski, sophomore Hayley Guyton and freshman Courtnee Cossell will round out the Redbird lineup. Competing as an individual will be junior Carlee Cossell. The Redbirds will compete against 17 other teams, including Arkansas-Little Rock, Bradley, Colorado State, Eastern Michigan, Florida International, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas State, Louisville, Mississippi State, Missouri-Kansas City, Missouri State, Montana, Oklahoma City University, Redlands Community College, Southern Methodist and Wichita State
