Jean Earns Her Fourth Golfer of the Week Honor

ST. LOUIS - Senior Katie Jean was named the Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week for her top-20 finish at the Pinehurst Challengewith a 228 (73-78-77), as announced by the league office Wednesday. It is the fourth time this season Jean has received the accolade.
She previously earned the award on Sept. 13, after winning individual medalist honors at the Redbird Invitational with an impressive performance of 218 (70-75-73). On Sept. 26, she received the award after taking ninth-place at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational with a final score of 231 (81-74-76). Her third Golfer of the Week Award came on Oct. 3, after carding a top-10 finish at the Johnny Imes Invitational with a three round score of 220 (73-73-74).
Jean continued her stellar season by placing in the top-20 yet again, as she led the Redbirds throughout the Pinehurst Challenge in Pinehurst, N.C. on April 2, and finished in a tie for 19th place with a three-round score of 228 (73-78-77). Jean has finished first for the Redbirds in every tournament played this season, including an impressive streak of six-consecutive top-ten finishes on the individual leader board.
Jean and the women's golf team will have 11 days off, before returning to the course at the Indiana Invitational, April 13-14, in Bloomington, Ind.
