Women's Golf Ready for Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State women's golf team will head to Kameohe Bay, Oahu, to compete in the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, its fourth tournament of the spring season Tuesday and Wednesday.

The competition will be three rounds of play, beginning with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. (CST), Tuesday, while the final round will be played Wednesday at 1 p.m. (CST). Kane`ohe Klipper Golf Course, the site of the tournament, is a 6,139-yard, par-72 configuration.

The Redbirds will look for production from senior Katie Jean, who is ranked first in individual performance this season in the Missouri Valley Conference. Jean is currently ranked 125th nationally and has finished in the top-ten in six tournaments this season.

Others competing for the Redbirds will be junior Rachel Powers, who is ranked fourth in the Missouri Valley Conference and 477th nationally. Junior Jordyn Wyzgowski, sophomore Hayley Guyton and freshman Courtnee Cossell will round out the Redbird lineup. Competing as an individual will be junior Carlee Cossell.

The Redbirds will compete against 16 other teams, including Arizona, Central Connecticut, Gonzaga, Hawaii, Hawaii Pacific, Hawaii-Hilo, Idaho, Lipscomb, Louisville, Mississippi, New Mexico, Ohio State, San Francisco, Seattle, Texas El-Paso and Washington State.
