ISU Athletics Helps Support WJBC's Brotherhood Tree

November 30, 2012

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State Athletics Department, in conjunction with WJBC, AM-1230, FM 93.7 Bloomington, will hold a WJBC Brotherhood Tree Night, as Redbird women’s basketball takes on Northwestern December 7, on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena. ISU Athletics staff members will be accepting unwrapped gift donations for families in McLean County before, during and after the game. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Patrons who bring unwrapped gifts for the WJBC Brotherhood Tree to the game will receive a ticket voucher for the Jan. 4 women’s game against Northern Iowa at Redbird Arena.
Gifts for the WJBC Brotherhood Tree should be dropped off at the north or east entrances, in collection bins which will be placed at each entry point. In addition, the WJBC Brotherhood Tree provides gifts for all members of the family, so the donated gifts can be for all ages.

In addition to Brotherhood Tree Night, ISU’s women’s team will also be hosting its first ever “Study Break” game as it welcomes Northwestern to campus. With finals week scheduled for the following week, ISU students with valid ID cards are invited to the Legends Room after the game for free pizza and a quiet area for studying. The Legends Room will remain open for two hours after the game has commenced. Pizza will be served while supplies last.

The WJBC Brotherhood Tree has provided gifts for needy families in McLean County since 1969, with gifts delivered to over 7,300 people last year. For any questions or more information about either promotion, please contact Lisa Juliano or Zachary Schroeder at (309) 438-3399 or via email at or
