Isler Joins Women's Basketball Staff as Director of Basketball Operations

NORMAL, Ill. - Illinois State head women's basketball coach Barb Smith announced Annie Isler as the director of basketball operations Wednesday.
"I've known Annie since she worked our camps at Minnesota, and I am so happy she is bringing her energy and passion to Illinois State," Smith said. "Annie has worked with championship programs and has experience in recruiting, scouting, video, camps, and player development. Her enthusiasm, hard work and leadership will assist all of us on the staff."
Isler has nearly four years of combined experience in coaching high school and collegiate basketball as an assistant coach and a video coordinator.
"The opportunity to serve Barb Smith and Illinois State is a dream come true," Isler said. "I am grateful to be a part of this program, University and community that embodies the teaching, modeling and guiding of young people."
Most recently, Isler served as the Student Activities Assistant & Director of Transportation at DeLaSalle High School, where she assisted the athletic director with all duties related to the support and executing of DeLaSalle High School athletics and activities. She was also an assistant coach for the varsity boy's basketball team, which won the Minnesota 3A State Championship.
For one season, Isler was an assistant coach on the women's basketball staff at North Dakota, and helped coach the team to a Great West Conference regular-season and tournament champions. She assisted with preparing on-court practices and individual workouts. At North Dakota, she also scouted opponents and assisted the recruiting coordinator, while maintaining all information technology and hardware within the program. Isler was the community service and academic liaison and maintained month compliance logs for the program.
Isler also worked as a video coordinator for Memphis for a season, and was responsible for organizing and executing all film exchange needs, while preparing scout, teaching and motivational highlight films. She was also an assistant coach with the Hopkins High School girls' basketball team and led them to a 2011 Minnesota State High School League State Championship.
Isler is currently working on a Master's degree in Kinesiology from Minnesota.
