Illinois State Receives A Vote In Associated Press Poll

NORMAL, Ill. - For the first time this season, the Illinois State women's basketball team received a vote in the Associated Press Women's Basketball Top-25 Poll, released Monday. The Redbirds are in the rankings for the first time since earning seven votes in the 2008-09 preseason poll. Illinois State received one vote in the latest AP Poll. Adam Minichino, the sports editor of the Columbus (Miss.) Commercial Dispatch, picked ISU at No. 25 in his poll this week. Wisconsin also received one vote and DePaul received two. Illinois State is 22-5 on the season and 15-1 in Missouri Valley Conference play. The Redbirds are on a 15-game winning streak, currently tied for the ninth-longest in the nation with No. 5 Xavier. Illinois State visits Creighton (16-9, 11-5 MVC) Thursday at 7:05 p.m.
