First 1,200 Fans to Enter Redbird Arena Get Free Backpacks at the Play4Kay Game

Feb. 9, 2013

NORMAL, Ill. - The first 1,200 fans who enter Redbird Arena Sunday for the Play4Kay game will receive a free pink backpack, donated by Frontier and The Pantagraph. The Illinois State women's basketball team will host Creighton at 2 p.m.

As a 15-year assistant coach under Kay Yow at North Carolina State, Illinois State women's basketball head coach Stephanie Glance is personally aware of the fight against breast cancer. Yow lost her courageous battle on Jan. 24, 2009, but Glance and Illinois State Athletics will continue the fight with a Play 4Kay game to support the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. The purpose of the event is to raise money for women's cancer research, as well as promote awareness, while providing an event where cancer survivors can feel the support of the community and the Illinois state women's basketball team in their battle against cancer.

Before the game, for more information on the Kay Yow Cancer Fund visit www.KayYow.com, and to order tickets for this event go to GoRedbirds.com or call the Illinois State Athletics Ticket Office at (309) 438-8000.
