Mark Uitermarkt is in his first season with the Illinois State women's basketball team and serves as the Coordinator of Basketball Operations.

Uitermarkt has nine years of Division I women's basketball experience and also coached at the Division III level for one season.

For the past eight seasons, Uitermarkt was the administrative specialist and operations and video coordinator for the Michigan women's basketball team and was responsible for operational and administrational assistance. His main tasks included working with team technology, assisting in on-campus recruiting, helping in summer basketball camp coordination, film breakdown for scouting, and breakdown of game film for team and individual players. Also at Michigan, Uitermarkt assisted in the two year design and construction project of the William Davidson Player Development Center and Crisler Arena renovation project. With the Wolverines, he also worked with various other offices within the athletic department.

Uitermarkt returns to the Valley for the second time, as he served as the director of basketball operations at Missouri State for two seasons. The 2000-01 Lady Bears advanced to the NCAA Final Four and Uitermarkt was involved in all operational tasks for the nationally recognized team.

As a coach, Uitermarkt has eight years of experience between the collegiate and high school levels.
