NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State men's tennis team will compete at the Northwestern Invitational in Evanston, Ill. Oct. 26-28. Muddappa Appanervanda, Michael Sellitto and Jacob Wilson will be representing the `Birds at this weekend's tournament, accompanied by assistant coach J.P. Ritchie.

Head coach Cris James thinks the team has been working hard and is prepared for action.

"I feel like our guys have been making some significant progress in practice and since the beginning of the season and I am hoping that this weekend that will start to show up in their results," said James. "I think in order for that to happen our players need to show a lot of mental toughness this weekend."

The Redbirds begin play at the Northwestern Invitational Friday, Oct. 26. The tournament continues throughout the weekend at all day events.
