MUNICE, Ind. - -

The Illinois State men's tennis team is preparing for this weekend's 35th annual, Ball State Invitational, Oct. 4-6. The Redbirds will be competing against Butler, Chicago State, DePaul, IPFW, IUPUI, Indianapolis and Marquette.

The tournament includes two draws of 32 in singles and two draws of 16 in doubles. Head Coach Mark Klysner and the team of six will look to build on last weekend's ITA All-American experience.

"I am looking for some good results this weekend. Hopefully we show another week of improvement from when we first started this fall," Klysner said.

Muddappa Appanervanda and Jacob Wilson look to build on last year's success at the Ball State Invite. Wilson advanced to the quarterfinals and Appanervanda advanced to the final round of the singles consolation bracket.

The Ball State Invite runs all day Friday at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center. Your online source for Illinois State Athletics, tickets, Weisbecker Scholarship Fund gifts, multimedia, Redbird merchandise, photos and more.
