TULSA, Okla. - The Illinois State men's tennis team was defeated in the second round of qualifying doubles at the ITA All-American Championships Tuesday in Tulsa, Okla. Today's match completes the Redbird's run at the ITA tournament.

Alexander Pelaez and Erik Brunskog lost to Axel Alvarez and Daniel Webb of Oklahoma, 8-5, in doubles action.

"The guys played well and were up 6-4 but just couldn't quite close it out," said assistant coach J.P. Ritchie. "I was pleased with the guy's performance today despite the outcome."

The Redbirds will be heading back to Illinois State Wednesday to begin preparing for their next event. The team will be back in action Oct. 18-22 as they begin competition at the ITA Regional Championships in Lansing, Mich.
