Pelaez defeated in Final Round of Pre-Qualifying Singles

Follow @ISURedbirds Tweet #ISUATH TULSA, Okla. - Alexander Pelaez was defeated in the final round of the pre-qualifying singles at the ITA All-American Championships Sunday in Tulsa, Okla. Erik Brunskog was defeated in the third round of the bracket. Pelaez defeated Kennedy Harrison of Louisiana State, 7-5 and 6-4, in singles action to advance to the final round where he was then defeated by Dominic Cotrone of Florida State, 5-7, 6-2, 7-6 (3). "Alex had a very physical three hour match and just came up a little short," said assistant coach J.P. Ritchie. "He left everything on the court and I was very pleased with his performance." Brunskog was defeated by Alejandro Augusto of Tennessee Tech University, 6-2 and 6-3, in the third round of singles play. "I would have liked to see the guys come out with a few wins but it doesn't always fall your way," said Ritchie. "We have tomorrow to prepare for doubles action on Tuesday." The Redbirds continue play at the ITA All-American Championships Tuesday in Tulsa, Okla. in doubles action.
