NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State men's tennis team will travel to Des Moines, Iowa to take on Drake Saturday, April 20. The Redbirds will then battle Creighton Sunday, April 21 in Omaha, Neb. This weekend marks the last two conferences matches for ISU this season.

"Drake is a very good team. Probably the best in the Missouri Valley Conference," said head coach Cris James. "It is going to take a big effort from our team and I think we can do that. I don't think Drake is anything we haven't seen before. We just have to go out there and believe we can win. Creighton will definitely compete hard and their guys will come after us. But if we do what we are supposed to do we should be in good shape."

The Redbirds come into this weekend's matches with an 8-13 overall record and a 1-2 record in the MVC.

"We've focused a lot on our doubles throughout the season so I am hoping so see some improvement there," said James. "We've made improvements on the way the guys have been acting and handling themselves on the court as well. We're not going finish where we want to in the MVC, but we have a chance to win the MVC Championships next weekend."

The Redbirds are set to compete against Drake Saturday at 2 p.m.
