NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State men's tennis team will host its first home event of the season with a double header Saturday, Feb. 16 against Illinois-Chicago at 2:30 p.m. and Butler at 6:30 p.m. The matches will be held at Evergreen Racquet Club in Bloomington, Ill.

"We are excited to have our first home matches of the season," said head coach Cris James. "We have traveled a lot already and played a tough schedule so it's nice to get a weekend at home and have a bit of support."

James expects the Redbirds to keep showing progress and continue getting better each week.

"I am sure that UIC and Butler will compete hard against us and playing two matches in the same day will be a bit of a challenge from a physical standpoint," said James. "All of our guys will get opportunities this weekend, so particularly for the guys at the bottom of the lineup, this will be a chance for them to show me where they are at and earn their spot in the top six for the upcoming matches down the road."
