Jacob Wilson and Muddappa Appanervanda advanced to the final rounds of tournament play, as the Illinois State men's tennis team concluded day two of the Ball State Invite Saturday.

"Wilson and Appanervanda led the way for the team," head coach Mark Klysner said. "I thought they played extremely well under pressure."

Wilson defeated Logon Collins of Marquette, 6-1, 7-5, and advanced to the final round of singles play Saturday.

Appanervanda beat Adam Reinhart of Depaul, 6-3, 7-6, advancing to the final round of the singles B brackets. Meanwhile, Rolando Torrellas lost to Nick Dykema of Marquette, 6-4, 6-4.

In doubles action, Jakub Eisner and Torrellas lost to Paul John and David Vierya of Depaul, 9-8 (4).

Appanervanda and Rodrigo Oliveira advanced to the final round of doubles play, defeating Sten Leusnik and Flip Dzanko of Depaul, 8-6.



Dylan Steffens and Wilson lost a tough match to Marquette's Nick Dykema and Cam Tehrani, 9-8 (2).
