Wilson Highlights Day Two of ITA All-American Men's Tennis Championships

TULSA, Okla. - The Illinois State men's tennis team wrapped up day two of the pre-qualifying second and third rounds matches, at the ITA All-American Championships. Jacob Wilson went undefeated in Sunday's play.
Wilson defeated Brent Lett of Clemson in three sets, 6-7, 6-2, 6-3, in the second round. He then beat Arizona's Kieren Thompson, 6-4, 6-5, in third round matches.
Head coach Mark Klysner was pleased with Wilson's play throughout the day.
"I'm extremely happy with how Jacob played today beating two top players from Clemson and Arizona," Klysner said. "His first match lasted over three and a half hours, and he showed great intensity throughout."
Rodrigo Oliveira was also victorious for the Redbirds. Oliveira defeated Juan Moreiras of Texas A & M, 6-4, 6-3.
"I was very proud of Rodrigo for beating a talented member of the Texas A & M team," Klysner said.
In other second round action, Erik Brunskog was defeated by, Mesa Mei of Xavier, 6-0, 6-2, and Rolando Torrellas lost to Nebraska's Marc Herrmann, 6-1, 7-5.
In other action, Fabian Zierleyn of Oral Roberts defeated Muddappa Appanervanda, 6-1, 6-2, and Jakub Eisner lost to Purdue's Aaron Dujovne, 6-3, 2-1.
Wilson advances to the fourth round of the pre-qualifying matches and will face Justin Carter of UMBC Monday at 8 a.m.
