IOWA CITY, Iowa - The Illinois State men's tennis team could not build on last weekend's victory over Belmont and fell Saturday to Iowa, 7-0, in Iowa City. The Redbirds forced five three-set matches in singles play but could not muster a win.

Jakub Eisner was defeated by Jonas Dierckx in a three set battle, 6-5, 7-4, 6-5. Juan Estenssoro beat Jacob Wilson in three sets, 2-6, 6-1, 6-4. Rolando Torrellas lost to Dominic Patrick, 6-3, 6-4.

Head coach Mark Klysner was disappointed with the overall outcome of Saturday's match but knows his team fought throughout.

"I was disappointed with the results of today. I didn't feel like we matched Iowa with intensity and energy," Klysner said. "We competed well in singles but lost too many of the important points."
