Djordje Uskokovic, a native of Belgrade, Yugoslavia, is no stranger to Illinois State tennis. This will be Uskokovic's fifth year at ISU, but his first year not playing for the Redbirds.
During Uskokovic's tenure as a student-athlete, he accumulated many awards. In his final season playing for the Redbirds, Uskokovic went undefeated in singles play during MVC competition, going 7-0. He was named all-conference at the No. 4 singles position and won 13-consecutive matches. Overall, in his final campaign, Uskokovic had a 31-8 record in singles. In doubles play, he owned a 22-12 record which placed him at No. 27 in the region. According to head coach Greg Kennett,
"Djordje had a great record in singles and he was a guy that we could count on to get a win in singles or doubles." Kennett will be counting on Djordje once again, however this time he will be counting on him to assist his former teammates.
"I still feel a part of the team, even though I am not playing," said Uskokovic. "I spend time with them on and off the court. The only difference now is I get to help them out and offer them advice."
