Biography and Career Highlights

Daniel Tobar returns to the Illinois State men's tennis program as a student coach for the 2009-10 season.

As a senior last season, Tobar finished his career as one of the all-time best doubles players at Illinois State. With 70 career doubles wins, Tobar ranks No. 4 on the all-time doubles wins list at ISU. Prior to the spring season, Tobar and teammate Skip Span received a No. 56 national ranking in doubles.

Tobar was named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team three years (2007-09). He also earned an All-Valley Selection in doubles in 2006 and 2007. At one point, Tobar was ranked No. 47 nationally in doubles with teammate and fellow coach Luka Marinkovic. Tobar ended his collegiate career with a 46-44 singles record and a 70-37 doubles record.

Tobar is returning to Illinois State to complete his degree in International Business.
