Biography and Career Highlights

Continuing his involvement with Redbird tennis, Luka Marinkovic returns for his second year on the coaching staff during the 2009-10 season. Last season he served as the team's student coach.

"I hope to contribute to Cris' coaching philosophy by working individually with the new players to help them adapt to playing at the collegiate level," said Marinkovic. "I am looking forward to getting involved in practices and traveling with the team this season."

As a student-athlete, Marinkovic was a standout player for the Redbirds. In his senior season (2007-08), Marinkovic was named to the MVC All-Select Team and the Valley Scholar-Athlete First Team. Marinkovic began the season ranked No. 47 nationally in doubles with partner, and fellow student coach, Daniel Tobar.

Marinkovic ranks third all-time at ISU in career doubles wins with 80, and is No. 8 with 72 career singles wins. He competed at the No. 1 spot in singles and doubles for the Redbirds, and ended his career at Illinois State with a 72-41 singles mark, and an 80-30 mark in doubles.
