NORMAL, Ill. - To wrap up the fall season, the Illinois State men's golf team will travel to the Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio, to compete in the Firestone Invitational hosted by Akron. The three-round (54 hole), two-day invitational will begin Monday, Oct. 7, with an 8:30 a.m., shotgun start. After a strong finish at the Badger Invitational, head coach Ray Kralis is confident that his team will stay steady and consistent throughout the duration of the invitational.

"We have some momentum going into our final fall event and want to finish it off in strong fashion," Kralis said. "So, we continue to emphasize controlling our minds and emotions and trusting in our abilities. We have done a good job of staying in the present and dealing with any adversity that has come our way, and we'll need to do that again to be competitive."

Leading the Redbirds this weekend will be Kyle Meihofer and Jordan Fahel, who finished tied for fifth place and tied for third place, respectively, at the Badger Invitational. Also competing for the `Birds will be Wils Hawn, Parker Freiburg, and Tyler Gentilella.
