NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State men’s golf team will play in the Notre Dame hosted Battle at the Warren Sunday. The 36-hole, five team competition will take place at the par-71, 7,090 yard Warren Golf Course in Notre Dame, Ind.

The Battle at the Warren will be played in a 6-count-4 format, in which the lowest two scores of each round will not be counted towards the overall team score.

Head men’s golf coach Ray Kralis believes that his entire squad is capable of contributing.

“I know this group wants it and I like the effort I have seen in practice,” Kralis said. “They are a very capable group when everyone is contributing, and I am confident each of these guys can play big for us. We believe in ourselves and are going to compete to win.”

The Redbird roster Sunday will include senior Eric Meier, juniors Ricky Hearden, Ryan Murphy and Matt Solis, and sophomores Parker Freiburg and Wils Hawn.

In addition to Notre Dame, the Redbirds will face Bradley, Evansville and Marquette. The competition is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
