Redbirds Roll to Nevada to Play in Jackrabbit Invitational

NORMAL, Ill. The Illinois State men’s golf team will travel to Primm, Nev., to compete in the 15-team Jackrabbit Invitational Monday and Tuesday at the par-72, 7090 yard Primm Valley Desert Course.

Head men’s golf coach Ray Kralis expects to see positive results from his team.

“The time is now,” Kralis said. “We have enough repetitions under our belts at this point. We need to start building momentum.”

Competing for Illinois State will be senior Eric Meier, juniors Ricky Hearden and Matt Solis and sophomores Ryan Murphy and Wils Hawn.

The first 36 holes of the tournament will be played Monday, before wrapping up on Tuesday with the final 18. The Redbirds will face Drake, Idaho, Nebraska, North Dakota, North Dakota State, Northern Iowa, Oakland, Oral Roberts, South Dakota, South Dakota State, Southern Utah, UMKC, Youngstown State and Weber State.
