Men's Golf Ends Day Two at the Lone Star Invitational

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Illinois State men's golf team finished day two at the Lone Star Invite with a team score of 618 (313-305) finishing 15th. Junior Wils Hawn led the Redbirds with a two-round score of 148 (75-73), tying him for 21st to end day two.

"We didn't get the four scores we are capable of with a strong team effort, but we are moving in the right direction," said head coach Ray Kralis. "Wils is doing a great job managing the course and his game, and I look for the others to follow his lead in the final round."

Senior Ricky Hearden fired a two-round score of 155 (78-77), one stroke better than freshman Tyler Pope-Ferguson, who carded a day-two score of 156 (79-77).

Rounding out the lineup for the Redbirds were junior Parker Freiburg, who shot a two-round score of 159 (81-78) and freshman Tyler Gentilella, who ended day two with a score of 166 (83-83).

Leading the field is North Texas with a team score of 579 (284-295), followed by Denver (582) and Central Arkansas (585).
