Weekly Honors Continue To Roll In For ISU's Walker

NORMAL, Ill. - The weekly honors for Illinois State sophomore wide receiver Tyrone Walker continue to roll in, as Walker was named The Sports Network/Fathead.com FCS National Offensive Player of the Week by the organization Monday for the week ending Saturday, Nov. 6.
Walker was also named the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) FCS Wide Receiver Performer of the Week and the Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in Illinois State's thrilling come-from-behind 41-39 victory over Youngstown State.

The Indianapolis, Ind., native finished the day with career-highs in catches (9), yards (206) and touchdowns (3) and recorded his third-consecutive game with over 100 yards receiving and fifth of the season overall .
Walker's three touchdown catches tied for third in the ISU single-game record book and his 206 yards receiving marked the fifth-highest single-game total in school history. Walker leads the Redbirds and all receivers in the Missouri Valley Football Conference with 904 yards with 12 touchdown receptions on the season. He also ranks 11th in the country in receiving yards per game (90.40) and is tied for 35th in scoring with just over seven points per game.
Illinois State will close out the 2010 season Saturday, Nov. 13, against in-state rival Eastern Illinois on Senior Day. The meeting will be the 99th in the all-time series between the two schools and kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Hancock Stadium.
