SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Illinois State football team (8-2, 5-2 MVC) improved its record to 5-0 on the road this season with a 17-10 victory at No. 14 Indiana State Saturday and moved up two spots in The Sports Network FCS Top 25 Poll announced Monday. Illinois State has been ranked in every poll this season and for a total of 17-consecutive weeks, dating back to last season.

ISU moved up two spots to No. 15 in The Sports Network FCS Top 25 and remained steady in the FCS Coaches Poll at No. 15. The Redbirds have an off week before they host defending FCS National Champion North Dakota State on Nov. 17 at Hancock Stadium. The Bison (8-1, 5-1 MVFC) are ranked No. 1 in both of this week's national polls and have a big game this weekend, when they host No. 16/20 South Dakota State (7-2, 5-1 MVFC), with first place in the Missouri Valley Football Conference on the line.

Indiana State rounds out the MVFC representatives in this week's rankings. The Sycamores (7-3, 5-2 MVFC) are ranked No. 18 in The Sports Network FCS Top 25 and are just behind SDSU at No. 21 in the FCS Coaches Poll, following their loss at home to the Redbirds last weekend.

The Redbirds and the Bison will hit the gridiron at noon, Saturday, Nov. 17, on Heroes' Day at Hancock Stadium. The game will have significant conference championship and playoff implications for both teams and should feature a pair of top-15 teams.
